+547 WNBA Parlay Picks - Friday, May 16

After simulating tonight's game over 10,000 times, our model has identified the following projections and probabilities for the picks that make up our four parlay legs on Thursday, May 16.

PLAYERPROPPROJECTIONODDS
Brionna Jones (Dream)Over 11.5 Points14.1 PTS-128
Courtney Williams (Lynx)Over 12.5 Points13.9 PTS-128
Dearica Hamby (Sparks)Over 14.5 PTS18.2 PTS+104

MORE: Three Bets to Win the WNBA Championship

Leg 1: Brionna Jones Over 11.5 Points (-128)

We'll start off with Brionna Jones, one of the newest members of the Atlanta Dream.

Jones' career numbers may fool you - she's averaged 10.1 points in her career, but when you remove here first three seasons in which she didn't start a single game, she has just one season averaging under 13.7 points per game.

She joins a team with two clear scoring funnels, Rhyne Howard and Allisha Gray, but with Tina Charles and Cheyenne Parker-Tyus gone, last year's 3rd and 4th leading scorers, Jones and Griner slide right into the mix.

The Mystics were a mid-tier defense at best last season and allowed 27.0 PPG to forwards. With the Dream likely to deploy a three-guard lineup of Howard, Gray and Shatori Walker-Kimbrough, Jones looks in line to benefit from the Mystics' 27.0 PPG allowed to forwards last season. Now two seasons removed from her Achilles injury, she could have one of her best yet, and we project her for 14.1 tonight.

Leg 2: Courtney Williams Over 12.5 Points (-128)

Next up is last year's postseason standout Courtney Williams to go over the 12.5 points line posted on FanDuel.

Williams has bounced around a lot in her career, with her scoring output taking a dip from its peak when she was on the Atlanta Dream in 2020 and 2021, down to 11.1 points per game from 15.1 with Atlanta.

However, in last year's playoffs, Williams came up big time again and again, clearing this in six of the Lynx's final nine games, including a pair of 23+ point outbursts.

The Wings deployed the worst defense in the WNBA last season and while they've shaken up their roster a bit, including adding UCONN superstar Paige Bueckers, our model projects Williams to pick up where she left off against a vulnerable team with a projection of 13.9 points tonight.

Leg 3: Dearica Hamby Over 14.5 Points (+104)

We close it out in the late game with LA Sparks forward Dearica Hamby who is coming off a career-best season across the board.

After starting just 19 of 40 games played in 2023, Hamby slid into the starting 5 for L.A. last season. Here's how her per game numbers changed:

  • Minutes: 24.8 to 33.7
  • FG Attempts: 7.7 to 13.1
  • Points: 8.9 to 17.3
  • Rebounds: 5.9 to 9.2
  • Assists: 1.8 to 3.5

There's not a sport in the world where that kind of jump from one year to the next wouldn't be impressive.

Her role could change when last year's top pick for the Sparks, Cameron Brink, returns from her torn ACL, and the team added Kelsey Plum in the offseason, but Hamby should get her looks.

We project Hamby for 18.2 points tonight vs. the league's newest team, the Valkyries, who will be playing in their first regular season game ever.
