Why You Should Be Betting on the Yankees for the AL East
Derrick, from the Dimers Summer Intern program, dives into the Dimers MLB Futures page to discover that the New York Yankees are still the ones to beat in the AL East.

The Bronx Bombers have bombed their division lead away. Since starting June with a 6-4 record, the Yankees have gone 9-16 since at the time of publishing. Awful pitching, swept in two of their last three divisional series, and averaging almost four errors a game, they've handed a comfortable division lead to their rivals north of the border in the Toronto Blue Jays.
Although it seems like the sky is falling in the Bronx, Dimers MLB futures model still has the Yankees as a probability at 51.5% - and the top choice - to win the AL East, with an edge compared to the current best odds available at +115.
Now, we know it's in every New York's sports fan's DNA to over-react to things; but here is why you shouldn't be losing your mind just yet at the idea of a wasted 2025 MLB season.
Why The Yankees Are Still A Must-Bet for the AL East
1. Their Offense Is Still Top 10
Even during a horrible losing streak, New York are top 10 in both batting average and runs at 7th and 3rd respectively. Adding to their chances is the congestion in this division as one of only three divisions in the league where last place and first place is separated by less than seven games. While another losing streak would no doubt dismantle the chances of a second straight division title, the Yankees bats, lead by Aaron Judge, have not lost a step.

2. The Supporting Cast Is Getting Healthy
In order for this division title to happen, a healthy team is important. Jazz Chisholm Jr., since returning from IL has 10 home runs and 24 RBIs. Giancarlo Stanton coming off the IL list in the past 10 games has two homers to go along with 9 RBIs. If Stanton and Jazz can stay healthy, the offense and defense can pick up win streaks quickly.

3. The Blue Jays Have a Tough Road Ahead
Even with an impressive win streak in June and so far in July, Toronto has a tough schedule ahead. The next five series include four teams who are all alive in the playoff race. The win streaks over the past two months for the Jays have included wins against six teams that aren't even in the conversation. This is key for the Yankees taking the title race back. Can they draw closer to the Blue Jays during this tough stretch?
Yankees winning the AL East is a sports betting futures play to invest in. With Toronto taking a surprising loss to the White Sox that ended the eight-game win streak, New York already has an opportunity to get closer in the division race.
