Leg 1: Brittney Sykes Over 13.5 Points

First up, we're backing the Washington Mystics leading scorer to do just that and put up the points vs. the Valkyries on Thursday night.

Sykes is averaging 16.1 PPG this season - a career mark, just edging out her 15.9 PPG season in her debut year with Washington in 2023.

The Mystics guard draws a 15.0 point projection from the Dimers model as seen in the WNBA Projections Hub, which also happens to be the highest scoring projection in this game (she's +470 to be the leading scorer at FanDuel).

Golden State does own a top 3 scoring defense this season, but they've allowed the opposing team's top scorer to hit this in 9 of their last 10, in which they've also gone 3-7 in that span.

Leg 2: Shakira Austin Over 7.5 Rebounds

Next up is another Mystics teammate, Shakira Austin, as we look for her to clear her rebounds mark  of 7.5 for the 6th time in her past 10 games.

Austin is second on the team in boards, seeing a big spike in her boardcrashing abilities since the start of the season - after her minutes took a jump to 25+ per game, she's cleared this mark in as many games in June as she had in the first month and a half of the season.

Both teams are great at defending the rim and picking up boards, and with the defensive capabilities of both teams, there should be enough boards up for grabs for both Austin and the Mystics REB leader, rookie Kiki Iriafen, to get their chances.

Leg 3: Janelle Salaun Under 5.5 Rebounds

Finally, we switch benches and head over to the Valkyries side, where we're taking the under on Janelle Salaun's rebounds.

She's only cleared 5.5 boards in 3 of her 9 games since returning and while her playing time is all over the place, she's consistently gone under regardless of minutes. If you ignore her first two games back when she was eased in with single-digit minutes, she's still under in 4 of 7.

Washington allows the second-fewest boards in the league and Salaun isn't just competing against Washington, she's competing with her teammates who all have similar rebounding averages between 5.4 and 4.6 per game - no one has taken over the role since Kayla Thornton went down with injury.

It could get sweaty as DimersBOT predicts her for 5.2 boards tonight, but that's still under and we'll back the trend and matchup in this one.
