Home Run Bet: Junior Caminero (Rays)

• Game: Rays @ Reds
• Dimers Probability: 19.3%

We start off with a guy who's come through for us time and time again this year, the Rays' breakout third baseman, Junior Caminero.

Caminero is crushing his HR pace form last season, hitting 26 homers in 411 plate appearances with a .479 xSLG and one of the highest exit velo marks in the league. 

His 13.2% Barrel % over the past month is Top 40 in all of MLB and his 7 HR are tied for the fifth-most in that span and he's hot with 3 HR since the All-Star Break.

The Dimers model gives him a 19.3% probability tonight, the 7th-highest probability in our hitter projections and that's due in large part to a favorable matchup.

The Reds' Nick Martinez isn't a meatball pitcher, but is very streaky and has been prone to multiple HR games - he has three with 2+ home runs this year and pair of games with 3+. Caminero has slugged two of his top pitches (sinker, 4-seam) incredibly well this season and Great American Ballpark is a very hitter-friendly stadium.

Home Run Bet: Manny Machado (Padres)

Next up is the hot bat of Manny Machado when the Padres roll into Busch Stadium to face the Cardinals on Friday night.

Machado is scorching the ball for the Padres right now - over the past month, he's got 6 HR, leads the team in Barrels (14) by nearly double the next player (Jackson Merrill, 8) and now leads the team in HR.

Our model paints him with a 17.2% probability to go yard tonight, planting him firmly in our Top 25 overall on the night.

Machado will face Cards' starter Miles Mikolas, who he's hit a pair of home runs off of  in 18 career plate appearances. Mikolas ranks in the bottom-7th percentile of MLB in barrel rate, and allowed 1+ HR in 6 of his L7 starts before the ASB, including a six-HR implosion vs. the Cubs, and he just allowed a pair in his most recent start vs. Arizona.

Mikolas primarily throws a mix of 4-seam, sinker, curveball and slider - these are Machado's four best pitches this season, slugging anywhere from .478 to .688 with 12 HR this season against this mix.

Home Run Bet: Gunnar Henderson (Orioles)

• Dimers Probability: 16.5%

We'll finish off with Gunnar Henderson in a plus matchup vs. the lowly Colorado Rockies at Camden Yards.

Henderson was a staple in our HR picks last season - this year, not so much amidst the Orioles' overall struggles. But, we're seeing a surge with him landing in today's Top 25 at 16.5% and he's got an 11.3% Barrel % and .523 SLG over the past month.

He's still hitting it with power, but his sweet spot is down from 34.5% to 30.4% this year, reducing his home run output to 11 on the season. 

This matchup could be what he needs at the right time - the Rockies' Kyle Freeland is a middle of the pack pitcher in terms off Barrel %, but bottom 20th percentile in every other hard-hitting metric, and he's gotten a little lucky with his expected home runs about 2 higher than his true output.

If the Orioles can get after Freeland early, we'll be welcoming in their bottom-five bullpen and third-most HR allowed by relievers (57), giving us some mid-late game opportunities as well.
