PICK: Pittsburgh Penguins at Tampa Bay Lightning Over 6.5 (-114)
The Pittsburgh Penguins and the Tampa Bay Lightning do battle for the second time this week this time in Tampa Bay.
The Penguins hold two blowout wins against the Bolts this season, both in Pittsburgh. The Pens took a 6-2 decision in early October and most recently, a 7-3 drubbing on Sunday afternoon.
One would think that Tampa Bay should be plenty fired up to play this game, especially after Tuesday’s lackluster 4-1 home loss to the rival Florida Panthers. I don’t trust Tampa’s defense right now as they are allowing a multitude of shots.
Over the last three games they have allowed 121 shots on goal, resulting in 11 goals against. At home this season, Tampa Bay averages 4.1 goals per game, which leads the league, and they are allowing 2.6 goals per game.
On the road this season, Pittsburgh averages three goals per game and they are allowing 3.1 goals per game. Three of the last five meetings have gone over a total of 6.5, with the other two games landing on six goals.
I think we will see a spirited game tonight where both teams fill the net, so bet Pittsburgh Penguins at Tampa Bay Lightning Over 6.5 (-114) at BetMGM
