Stars vs. Ducks Best Bets
Wednesday, January 4, 2023 - 10:00PM ET
PICK: Dallas Stars Team Total Over 3.5 (-114)
PICK: Miro Heiskanen Power Play Point (+186)
The Dallas Stars continue their two game California trip tonight as they visit the Anaheim Ducks at Honda Center.
Dallas is on a back to back as they suffered a 3-2 loss to the Kings last night in Los Angeles and they have a nice bounce back opponent tonight in the form of the struggling Ducks.
Anaheim has had a horrendous season and they are in the basement of the Pacific division with the third least points in the entire league. At home this season, the Ducks are allowing 3.8 goals per game, which is sixth most in the league, and they are allowing a league high 37 shots per game. Anaheim's home Penalty Kill is the seventh worst at 73%. Furthermore, the Ducks have allowed the most high danger scoring chances in five on five situations amongst home teams this season.
The Stars are allowing 3.3 goals per game on the road this season, which is 9th most. They are also averaging 31 shots per game, which is 13th best in the league. Dallas is also second in the league in high danger scoring chances in five on five situations. I also want to note their road Power Play, which is 31%, second best in the league.
Their Power Play draws a fantastic matchup against the Ducks Penalty Kill, which leads me to a player prop in Miro Heiskanen to record a Power Play point. Miro Quarterbacks the Stars' top Power Play Unit and is second on the team with 16 Power Play Points, 15 of those being assists. He also recorded two Power Play Points in Dallas' 5-0 home win against the Ducks on December 1st.
I like the Stars offense to get to four goals and, including their Power Play, led by Heiskanen, to do some damage tonight, in Anaheim.
So bet Dallas Stars Team Total Over 3.5 (-114) and Miro Heiskanen Power Play Point (+186) with BetMGM
