The Flames have won three of their last four games and have climbed to two points out of the second Western Conference Wild Card spot, behind the slumping Winnipeg Jets.
The Flames have been inconsistent all season long but they are playing well right now. The one thing they have been this year is good on the road. Calgary boasts a road record of 16-11-11, where they average 3.1 goals per game and allow 3 goals per game.
The Vancouver Canucks have had a difficult season themselves as they went through a coaching change as Rick Ticceht took over for Bruce Boudreau. The Nucks have played well under Tocchet as they have some impressive wins against teams like Dallas, Los Angeles and Toronto.
The Canucks are coming home from a three game road trip after suffering a 6-5 loss in St. Louis on Tuesday night. Desperation doesn't always equal wins but the Flames have life as this stretch has improved their playoff chances.
With Winnipeg also in action tonight, the Flames need a win here and I think we will see a very detailed effort tonight from them. There has been a lot of talk about how the players don't like playing for Sutter but they have hit a gut check time in the season and have responded.
They played a great game against the Kings in a 2-1 on Tuesday night and I like them to carry that momentum into Vancouver tonight so I'll back Calgary on the money line.
