Canadiens vs. Ducks Best Bets
PICK: Montreal Canadiens at Anaheim Ducks Over 6 (-115)
PICK: Mason McTavish to record a Point (+114)
The Montreal Canadiens continue their four game West Coast trip as they visit the Anaheim Ducks tonight, at Honda Center.
This is a battle between two teams that will be in the Connor Bedard sweepstakes come seasons end.
The Ducks are 30th in the league and the Canadiens are 26th. Typically when two bad teams face each other, offense comes to the fore.
Both of these teams have bottom eight defenses. The Ducks allow the most goals per game, at 4.1 and the most at home, at 4.0.
The Habs allow 3.6 goals per game, which is eighth most, and 3.5 goals on the road, which is also eighth most. This is the second meeting of the season as the Ducks claimed a 5-2 victory in Montreal in December.
In fact, six of the last eight meetings have hit at least six goals, with five of those games going Over 6.
These teams both have some offensive capability as the Ducks have averaged 2.8 goals per game over their last 10 and the Habs have averaged 3.4 goals per game over theirs. I like a total of six here so I'll back that tonight as we should see plenty of goals.
I am also going to look at a player prop and that is Ducks Center Mason McTavish to record a point.
McTavish has points in 48% of his home games this season, including four of his last five, accumulating seven points in that span.
McTavish also record two points in this seasons previous meeting in Montreal. Mason also centers Anaheim's top Power Play unit, which is important because the Habs own the league's thirrd worst road Penalty Kill. I will gladly take a plus money price on this prop tonight.
I will also be looking at Alternate Shot on goal props in this game as both teams are in the bottom six of the league in shots allowed. Keep an eye out on my Twitter page for those later on if Alternate lines are released.
So bet Canadiens at Anaheim Ducks Over 6 (-115) and Mason McTavish to record a Point (+114) at BetMGM.
