PICK: Ottawa Senators Team Total Over 3.5 (-130)
The red hot Ottawa Senators hit the road to begin a five game road trip tonight as the visit the Chicago Blackhawks at United Center.
The Sens are winners of five straight games, which has placed them three points behind the Pittsburgh Penguins for the final Wild Card spot in the Eastern Conference.
Ottawa has scored a total of 27 goals during their five game streak, a 5.4 per game average. Ottawa’s playoff chances were bolstered with the addition of Defenseman Jacob Chychrun, who scored a goal and added an assist on Saturday night.
Their opponent, the Chicago Blackhawks are in full lottery mode after dealing Patrick Kane and Max Domi at the deadline. The Hawks are now icing a near AHL roster.
On the season, Chicago is allowing 3.7 goals per game on home ice. Petr Mrazek is the likely starter and he has a 3.74 goals against average and a .891 save percentage on the season.
I’d also like to note that this marks Alex DeBrincat’s return to Chicago. The former Hawk was dealt to the Sens in the offseason.
These teams met three weeks ago in Ottawa, which resulted in a 4-3 Chicago win. He didn’t do much in that outing but I think he’ll be involved tonight so his props may be good looks.
As far as the official play goes, I think Ottawa’s red hot offense will be too much for Chicago to handle and I’ll back their Team Total Over 3.5.
So bet Senators Team Total Over 3.5 (-130) with BetMGM today.
