Home Run Bet: Juan Soto (Mets)

We start off in Queens with a matchup that could see fireworks on both sides.

Juan Soto came through for us last week at juicy +540 odds on the first game back from the break and we're going back to him tonight in a game he's favored to go yard.

Up to 24 HR on the year, Soto is ranked 2nd in MLB over the past six weeks in Barrel %, hitting 14 HR in that time and has a 40.0% Hard-Hit % since coming back from the break, which lines up well for his matchup tonight.

The Angels send Kyle Hendricks to the mound, who's allowed 16 HR this season and will be making his first start since the ASB. He's far from the worst HR pitcher out there, but he's in the 47th percentile in Barrel % and he lets hitters extend their at-bats. He primarily throws a Changeup (38%) and Sinker (37%), while Soto has crushed offspeed pitches with 5 HR and a .596 SLG. 

The Angels bullpen has allowed the most HR in MLB this year with 59, giving Soto ample chances to capitalize on his 19.0% HR probability from our model.

Home Run Bet: Kyle Tucker (Cubs)

We shift to the midwest, specifically the Windy City of Chicago where we are looking at Kyle Tucker to go yard for the Cubs tonight.

Tucker's got 18 HR this year and after a couple quieter weeks, went yard in the first game back from the break and this season, he's ranked in the 77th percentile in Barrel %, and 85th in Sweet Spot %, while boasting elite plate discipline.

The Royals will be starting veteran Rich Hill on loan from the nursing home as he makes his debut for his 14th team in his career tonight. Hill hasn't pitched in a game since September 4, 2020 and he threw just 3.2 innings across 4 games and allowed 23 HR in his last full season in 2023.

Hill has been a meatballer in his past few seasons, ranking between the 18th and 33rd percentile in Barrel %, primarily throwing a mix of 4-seamer, curveball and a sweeper, all of which Tucker has hit well this year, especially the 4-seam with a .525 SLG.
