Lightning vs. Islanders Best Bets

Thursday, March 30, 2023 - 7:30PM ET

PICK: Islanders ML vs. Lightning (-115)

PICK: Islanders Team Total Over 3 (+100)

The New York Islanders host the Tampa Bay Lightning tonight in what is a must win game for New York.

The Isles have fallen to the second Wild Card spot in the East, thanks to a two game losing streak.

The Islanders have 87 points on the season and are one point up on the Pittsburgh Penguins.

The Isles are tied with Florida but the Panthers currently hold the tiebreaker. All three teams have four games remaining and all three are in action tonight.

Luckily for the Isles, they get the Lightning on a back to back after an emotional game against the Rangers last night at Madison Square Garden.

The Bolts have struggled on back to backs this season as they are 3-9-2 in these situations.

Another positive for the islanders is that Brian Elliot should get the start in goal tonight for Tampa.

Elliot has been a fade for me all season, especially on the road where he is 4-6-1 with a 3.81 goals against average and a .883 save percentage.

These numbers are significantly worse than his home stats where he is 7-0-1 with a 2.60 goals against average and a .904 save percentage.

Tampa Bay is locked into a first round matchup with Toronto so I don't think we'll get the best lightning team tonight.

New York is desperate and I like them to pounce on the Bolts tonight, so I'll back them on the moneyline and their Team Total Over, at even money.

Bet Islanders ML vs. Lightning (-115) and Islanders Team Total Over 3 (+100) at BetMGM
