King of the Diamond Promo Returns $83K in Bonus Bets for Pedro Pages Home Run
The fan-favorite "King of the Diamond" promo at DraftKings returned a, $83,000 bonus bet for 12 lucky winners thanks to the Cardinals Pedro Pages.

There are bonus bet payouts and then there are PAYOUTS.
The latter has become a reality for 12 lucky bettors who picked St. Louis Cardinals catcher Pedro Pages to hit a home run for DraftKings "King of the Diamond" promo. An $83,334 reality, in fact.
We'll say that again - $83,334 in bonus bets. Wow.
If you're not familiar with "King of the Diamond," here's the 101:
Pick 2-5 players to hit a home into a single parlay, apply your "King of the Diamond" token to the picks in your betslip, and meet the wager requirements. If any one of the players you bet on hits a home run *and* is on the highest scoring team of the day across all MLB games that day, you'll win your share of $1 Million in bonus bets.
This has quickly become a fan-favorite promo as the right picks have returned bonus bets values ranging from $60 to the hundreds to nearly $1,700 just last week.
But now the ceiling has been raised with 12 lucky (and perhaps superpowered) individuals who picked Pedro Pages to go yard on Monday night.

For context Pedro Pages is on a salary of $768k this season, approximately $4722 per game.
It would take Pages 17 games to earn $83,334 🤣 https://t.co/aSgnuEcRb5
A Staggering Return: From $5 to $83,000 in Bonus Bets
The King of the Diamond promo requires just a $5 minimum bet, and doesn't even require the full bet to win if you smartly pick the maximum number of players. Besides, if you hit a $5 five-leg HR parlay, you might not be worried about the bonus bets.
As long as one player in your betslip hits a home run and is on the highest scoring team, you're getting your share of the $1M prize.
DraftKings has issued the bets in the form of sixteen $5,000 bonus bets and one $3,334 bonus bet, giving the 12 winners plenty of chances to convert those into some cold, hard cash to withdraw from the sportsbook.
Pedro Pages: The Unlikely Hero
Now to the hero of it all and you could be forgiven for not knowing who Pedro Pages is.
It's just his second season in MLB and before Monday night, he had hit just two home runs all season long. The Dimers model gave him an 11.3% probability of homering in that game.
And it didn't come early on Monday - in fact, there hadn't been a home run all game, even as the Cardinals poured on 8 runs of offense, before Pages smashed a two-run, 396-foot bomb in the bottom of the seventh inning.
With that home run, he put the Cardinals on top with 10 runs on the night, before a Lars Nootbaar sac fly drove home one extra run to slam the door shut.
Pages didn't see another at-bat in the game and had he not hit a home run, there would have been a 9-run tie between the Diamondbacks and Phillies - this would have split the bonus bets between Lourdes Gurriel Jr, Gabriel Moreno, Geraldo Perdomo, Kyle Schwarber, Alec Bohm and Edmundo Sosa.
Safe to say that $1 Million bonus bet pool would have split more than just 12 ways, especially considering how popular of a pick Schwarber himself would have been. When Shohei Ohtani won the promo, he returned just a $60 bet to each winner.
Best Strategy to Win King of the Diamond
Naturally, you're probably wondering how to pick the right player in this promo, though don't expect to win $83,000 in bonus bets if you get it right.
There are a few key strategies to utilize and we'll touch on a few here, but ultimately, you still need to get lucky.
1. Start with Offenses on a Roll:
First and foremost, focus on teams that have been putting up big numbers at the plate recently, no just with one or two good hitters. The Mets have their share of sluggers, for example, but have scored the sixth-fewest runs over the past two weeks. You need team upside.
2. Isolate the Soft Spot in the Matchup:
Reduce your targets further by finding the best pitching matchups. Look for starters with high home run rates, lots of contact and above average ERA numbers over their past several starts, especially against good offenses. Beyond the starters, poor bullpens give you opportunity to get runs late in the game and inflate the team total.
3. Zero In on the Power Threat:
You should have roughly 2-3 team targets at this point. Look at which hitters in the lineup are hot, have high HR analytics like Barrels, and match up well with the pitcher's split and pitch mix. Use Dimers' Best Home Run bets to find both value and high probability. A mix of elite sluggers and one or two dark candidates can give you a good spread of talent.
4. Maximize Your Options:
You can play 2-5 players in King of the Diamond and for a $5 bet, there's no reason not to go big. Simply put, you are maximizing your chances to win by including more players. Betting just 2 or 3 players puts you at a disadvantage against every other bettor who is maxing out with five hitters. Take advantage of the rules.
5. Check the Weather:
You may have found the perfect home run hitter in the best matchup, but how's the weather? You don't want to get burned by a poor forecast that's been overlooked so before you finalize your entry, give one last look at the local forecast at each stadium.
