Free Soccer Picks and Predictions – Premier League Week 9

Prospector Sam is here with your free soccer picks for this weekend's English soccer action.
The Prospector world domination tour continues! For those of you reading this who are confused by the change in branding and title, welcome to the Thunderdome. Well, not at all the Thunderdome, but something equally awesome from my perspective. You see, it’s been almost a year since I started writing for Dimers and slowly but surely I’m working my way up the totem pole of importance and trust. And, just like they did with College Football, Dimers has made Prospector Sam the official Czar of Soccer Picks (a self made title, I admit), which will be split out between the Premier League and International bets.
Editor's note: 'Czar of Soccer Picks' title granted
You might be wondering “how in god’s name do they trust you with anything?” And, in fairness, it’s a reasonable question. My brand of chaos and insistence on making jokes when they’re completely unwarranted is a pretty tough sales pitch to get behind for anyone running a real business. But the relationship Dimers and I have going works great and, despite my nonsense, I actually am pretty decent at this gig (both in terms of the gambling and writing). So here’s to the next step with my great friends over at Dimers, and another rung up the ladder for myself and the Gold Diggers! Now let’s win some fucking money.

Free Premier League Picks For Week 19, 2021-22
Crystal Palace vs. Newcastle, Sat Oct 23, 10:00am (ET)
And to start the new soccer series off, a clash of Premier League titans that everyone has been waiting for…. Well, maybe not. In fact, I doubt anyone will be tuning into this match unless they’re being paid to (or gambling on it, which kind of fits). But we go where the board takes us and I like the over in this game a lot. For starters, your dog could probably score a goal on Newcastle and I think the minimum they give up in the game is 1. While Palace aren’t the best offensive team in the league by a long shot, they’ve scored at least 1 goal in 5 of their last 6 matches and multiple goals in 4 of those 5. Against the worst defense in the Premier League, they should have no trouble getting on the scoresheet. As for Newcastle, their offensive record isn’t all that bad and they’re dangerous so long as teams have to keep track of Saint-Maximin which is a tall task for almost anyone. Palace will be forced to focus on his movement all over the field which will open up room for players like Callum Wilson to exploit. I’m not sure these teams have enough quality to get up to the 5 or 6 goal mark, but 3-4 looks like the right range for this game. At -106 on that over, I think the value is strong as well.
⛏️ PICK: Total goals OVER 2.5 (-106)

Leeds vs. Wolves, Sat Oct 23, 10:00am (ET)
I really don’t want to pick on Leeds because they were an absolute blast to watch last season, but, to blatantly pick on them, they’re fucking terrible right now. They sit 17th, with a lone win over Watford and three draws, and they’re in real danger of the drop if things don’t turn around fast. But, more concerning, is that the goal scoring that made them one of the most fun teams to watch last season has completely dried up, which is a huge problem for a team that plays aggressive soccer with very little defensive discipline. Basically, they’re conceding at close to the same rate (about to 2 per game) but not offsetting it with offense, which is not a good trade to be making.
You’re surely aware by now that we’re betting on Wolves, but I’m still weary of getting too aggressive on the away side, and here’s why; Wolves have won each of their last 3 games but haven’t been particularly convincing, and I worry about their limited offense. So, with all that in mind, we’re going back to a trusty old friend - Draw No Bet. I believe Wolves will be the team to win this if either of them do, but I’m not totally sold on them yet and I’d rather have the safety of the push than get too aggressive and lose money when it’s not the right value. And, while we have to give up some payout if Wolves do win, the DNB is still at a decent +114 if things end up breaking our way. Sometimes caution is the right approach, and that’s what I’m going with here.
⛏️ PICK: Wolves [draw no bet] (+114)

West Ham vs. Tottenham, Sun Oct 24, 9:00am (ET)
Welcome back, Tottenham! No, I obviously don’t mean winning, I mean giving up goals in spectacularly awful fashion. This defense is a walking pile of garbage (I’m looking at you, Eric Dier), and it would not shock me at all to see West Ham put up a couple here (in fact, the only thing that would really shock me would be a clean sheet). As for Spurs, they’re starting to score goals again and the flow of their offense has gotten way more crisp with Ndombele and Lucas in the lineup. While I would love to take a shot at Spurs to win so I can laugh at one of my favorite Dimers staffers when his beloved Hammers lose (imagine rooting for West Ham, sounds awful), I’ll put my personal interests aside and stick with a bet that has better value. I’m finding it extremely hard to see a scenario where both teams don’t score at least one in this game, and I expect they’ll be able to eclipse the 2.5 number together. If you’re looking for a little extra protection then stick with BTTS at -164, but I’ll jump over that for some higher value with the over at -126. This should be a fun game, and hopefully Spurs are the one who walk away with the second or third goal.
⛏️ PICK: Total goals OVER 2.5 (-126)
