West Ham vs. Newcastle - Pick of the Day
Sunday, September 11, 2022 - 9:00AM ET
This is inevitably going to bite me in the ass when they come out and put up a stellar performance, but West Ham are just awful right now (unless they’re facing Viborg in the ECL). The Hammers have four points in six games with just three goals scored, and they’ve got a long way to go to be competitive with some of the better sides.
In line with that statement, and as much as it pains me to admit it, Newcastle are strong enough to be competing for Europe this season and are among the “better sides” in England. A rough stretch of results over the last few weeks may be concerning for them, but they deserved a point against Liverpool and probably should have had three against Palace in a 0-0 draw.
You see where this is going, so let’s jump on ahead and grab Newcastle TT Over 1.5, which is priced extremely well for our purposes at +162. Alexander Isak is going to turn out to be one of the better signings of the summer in my opinion, and the Magpies are building a squad that has talent at most positions on the pitch (unlimited oil money can buy you anything, apparently). I think Newcastle are the better side and 2+ goals from them is closer to a coin flip or slightly worse in my opinion. I’ll gladly take a shot at this with the high relative payout.
PICK: Newcastle Team Total Over 1.5 Goals (-110 at Caesars, 1 unit)
Betting preview: Manchester City vs. Tottenham
