Aside from a matchup between United and Chelsea (which doesn’t really hold the weight it did 10 years ago), this weekend’s slate is a bit of a snoozer.

Sure, it’s the EPL and everyone is liable to slip up on any given day, but it’s always more fun when you have a marquee matchup to look forward to. Instead, I get to simply dread Spurs’ inevitable collapse at the hands of Newcastle.

As for this game, you might think there’s very little value to be found. “City should win and win handily, Prospector, why are you wasting our time with a pick we could make ourselves?” Well, my fine friend, my brain is too clever and sharp for yours (I always win the arguments I make up, FYI) and I’ve found a different angle I like a lot in Both Teams to Score at -102.

To start, City should score. I dont nor should I need to explain that part to you. If you want more on that point, go look at any set of highlights or statistics or literally just find a stranger and ask them about City.

That makes Brighton our concern, and I think the Seagulls can handle the task. This team is better than their numbers suggest, and their biggest failure has been an inability to convert their chances (yes, I understand that is a problem here, but hear me out).

While City wont serve up golden opportunities on a silver platter (with a bronze ladle), City have been defensively weaker all year and the buildup of fixtures, which Brighton havent had to contend with, is going to cause some cracks.

So, at -102 for a bet that essentially hinges on whether Brighton can right the ship and finally put away on chance, I think price is right for the risk here. City win comfortably, but the visitors steal at least one.
