With both the Saints and Dolphins are on the bubble of the respective AFC and NFC playoff pictures, whoever loses this one will find themselves making early vacation plans. New Orleans have won both of their last two games, including the first shut out of a Tom Brady-led team in over 15 years, but they face a tough proposition backing up that performance with Taysom Hill and Trevor Siemian both testing positive to Covid, leaving them with not too many options when it comes to running the offense. Ian Book is likely to get the start as QB.
It's hard to look past the form of the Dolphins who have emerged as one of the hottest teams in the league. Miami have now won six games in a row, all in fairly dominant fashion. Given the unfortunate luck of the Saints, we can't see anything other than a comfortable covering of the spread by the Dolphins.

PICK: Alvin Kamara OVER 56.5 rushing yards (-114)
Having a crisis at the quarterback position is a little easier to take when you have a guy like Alvin Kamara on your team. Kamara will have memories of this time last year when he scored 6 touchdowns on Christmas Day, and he should be getting just as many opportunities to carry the ball throughout this one. Our projections have him pinned down for 65 yards.

Rookie QB in prime time in a game that the Saints HAVE to win if they want to stay within the playoff picture. What could go wrong? Ian Book has some nice stats coming out of college and may even have a rushing TD himself in this game, but if New Orleans find themselves down late, there won't be too much caution displayed. Things could get sloppy if the rook forces things making this a nice value play for bettors.
