Devils vs. Capitals Best Bets
Thursday, March 9, 2023 - 7:00PM ET
PICK: New Jersey Devils -1 (+105)
PICK: New Jersey Devils Team Total Over 3.5 (-103)
The New Jersey Devils visit the Washington Capitals in a Metropolitan Division battle tonight at Capital One Arena.
New Jersey is coming off a 4-3 home loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs, in overtime, on Tuesday night.
The Devils currently sit in 2nd place in the Metro, four points behind Carolina. The Devils have a favorable matchup tonight in the Washington Capitals.
The Caps traded away some pieces at the deadline and are going with an inexperienced backend.
That is not a good recipe for this Devil team that loves to push the Pace. New Jersey averages 35 shots per game on the road this season, which is second most in the league.
NJ is also averaging 37 shots per game over their last 10 games overall. The Devils also average 3.9 goals per game on the road, which also is second most in the league.
Post all-star break, the Devils are second in the league in goals per game (3.9) and 6th in the league in shots per game (35).
Added to this lethal offensive attack is Timo Meier, who is one of the best pure goal scorers in the league.
Washington has been stingy overall but since the break they are allowing 3.7 goals per game, which is fifth most. In the two games since the trade deadline, the Caps have allowed 81 shots on goal.
I think New Jersey’s offensive will be too much for the Capitals to handle tonight and I’ll back their Team Total over as well as the Alternate puck line, at plus money.
Bet New Jersey Devils -1 (+105) and New Jersey Devils Team Total Over 3.5 (-103) at BetMGM
