Michigan State Spartans vs. Oakland Golden Grizzlies - 6:30PM ET

The Rocket Watts revenge game is here! Watts is a former Spartan who once looked like a promising future star before transferring to Oakland, where things haven't gone very well so far. Oakland is 0-9 vs. Kenpom top 250 opponents and seven of those nine losses have come by double digits. They have played three top 100 opponents this season and lost all three by 20+ with an average margin of defeat of 26 points.

It's a misconception that games in this series are always close. Two of the last four have been blowout Michigan State wins and this is the worst Oakland team in Greg Kampe's career.  In the history of the Kenpom database, Tom Izzo's Michigan State teams have covered 20.5 points 21 times in 22 games against Kenpom teams ranked 300 or above. We expect a blowout.

TCU Horned Frogs vs. Utah Utes - 9:00PM ET

These two teams are extremely similar profile-wise - great defenses, average offenses and quick tempos. Utah shoots it a bit better from three, but TCU wins the turnover battle much more often. This comes down to what roster is better on paper, and TCU has the big advantage there.

The Horned Frogs have won seven straight, six by double digits including 13 point wins against Iowa and Providence. Utah's resume hasn't been very impressive outside of their shocking upset at home against Arizona - they are just 2-3 vs. Kenpom top 100 teams on the season, with losses to Sam Houston State, Mississippi State and most recently BYU by nine points. TCU has better players, and is playing better ball right now, and that's enough for me.

Arizona State Sun Devils vs. San Francisco Dons - 10:00PM ET

Arizona State has been one of the biggest surprises of the season, winning their last nine games. They have been good away from home, with a 5-1 record in away and neutral games thus far. They play hard, and are an easy team to fall in love with given their effort and tenacity as a team.

San Francisco sits at 9-4 on the season, but they are just 1-4 in their last five games against Kenpom teams ranked above the 300 mark. The Dons are in the middle of a tough scheduling stretch, which forces them to play four games in six days the week of Christmas. They have another game less than 24 hours after this one. Their offense has gone cold as of late in their losses, and we expect that to continue tonight.
