College Basketball Best Bets for Thursday, November 10

Cleveland State Vikings vs. Cincinnati Bearcats - 8:00PM ET

Cincy is technically 0-0 this season, but they did beat Chaminade already in a game that won't count for their record. The Bearcats return everyone, but that's not always a good thing - last year's team lost 15 games and a few changes could have benefitted this group.

Cleveland State won the Horizon League last year, and they return 75% of their minutes played, plus a marquee edition in Iowa State transfer Tristan Enaruna, who should lead them in scoring.

Last year, Cleveland State played three teams ranked in the top 100 on kenpom, and all were close games - they lost to BYU by 10, took Oklahoma State to overtime and lost to Xavier by four in the NIT. We like the Vikings to keep this one close.

North Dakota Fighting Hawks vs. Creighton Bluejays - 9:00PM ET

Creighton is one of the most divisive teams in college basketball this season. The polls love them, as they sit 9th in the AP Poll right now. But the computers don't - the Bluejays are just 29th on kenpom to start the season.

Creighton won their first game against St. Thomas by 12, but it wasn't pretty. They were up just two points with 10 minutes left in the game.

North Dakota returns four starters from last year's team and adds two freshmen (who have both immediately been inserted into the starting lineup). They won their first game by eight against Incarnate Word. 31 is just too many points for a Creighton team that hasn't proven anything yet.

Vermont Catamounts vs. St. Mary's Gaels - 10:00PM ET

Vermont opened their season with a 15-point win against Brown. They played nine players - seven of which are seniors. One new face is Dylan Penn, who was a star at Bellarmine and now could lead the Catamounts in scoring.

St. Mary's is always a difficult team to play, but they lost their two best players from last season. They opened the year with an eight point win against Oral Roberts, who is not as well-rounded or as talented as Vermont.

Give us the Catamounts to keep this one close.
