College Basketball Best Bets for Monday, November 21

Mercer Bears vs. Florida State Seminoles - 6:30PM ET

It's hard to definitively learn anything for certain in college basketball through just two weeks, but we've seen enough of Florida State to feel that this line is a little off. The Seminoles are 0-4 with losses to Stetson, UCF, Troy and Florida, and Leonard Hamilton's Seminole program has never looked more vulnerable.

Take this into consideration - FSU has only LED by 7 points or more in one of their four games. They opened up a 17 point lead at hald against in-state rival Florida, before promptly giving up a 23-3 run out of halftime and losing by nine points. Mercer has six different players averaging double figures and we feel strongly that they are good enough offensively to keep this close, if not win outright.

Ohio State Buckeyes vs. San Diego State Aztecs - 9:00PM ET

The almighty analytics grail that is Kenpom has San Diego State favored here by just three points, and with the way Ohio State has looked so far this season, we agree the line feels a little too high. The Buckeyes are 3-0, with a top 40 offense and defense in the country making them one of the more well-balanced teams in basketball.

San Diego State heads into this game unscathed as well, but it hasn't come easy. Their win against BYU and Stanford were both close down the stretch. Ohio State is the toughest team they have faced yet, and we look for freshman sensation Brice Sensabaugh to be the difference for an OSU cover in Maui.

Arizona Wildcats vs. Cincinnati Bearcats - 11:30PM ET

Anyone who stays up late enough to watch the Maui Invitation nightcap will be treated to one of the best teams in the sport. Arizona currently boasts the nation's #1 effective FG% offense while playing the fastest tempo in college basketball. The WIldcats have scored 95 points or more in all three of their games.

This doesn't bode well for a Cincinnati team that can go cold offensively. The Bearcats come into this game off a 64-51 loss to Northern Kentucky. We predict a blowout in this one.
