Behind the Scenes: Dimers’ Summer Internship Program

This summer, Dimers.com opened its doors to the next generation of sports betting media minds with our Summer Internship Program. Over the course of two months, our interns weren’t just spectators in the sports betting world — they were contributors, creators, and community leaders.

From crafting content that reached thousands of fans to engaging directly with subscribers in our Dimers Pro Discord, our interns dove headfirst into the challenges and opportunities of sports betting media. Along the way, they picked up technical skills, fresh perspectives, and lessons that will stick with them well beyond their time at Dimers.

Here’s a look at what Derrick, Brad, and Tony had to say about their experience.

Derrick: Connecting Content and Community

For Derrick, the summer was all about growth — as a marketer, creator, and bettor. With little prior video editing experience, he quickly learned how powerful short-form content can be in building engagement and growing a brand.

“Very quickly I understood how powerful a one-minute video can be to draw customers into what a business is advertising,” he said.

Beyond content creation, Derrick gained a deeper appreciation for the role of probability and value in betting. But above all, he’s proud of the content he produced, which resonated with thousands of sports fans across social media.

“Dimers not only helped me become a better sports bettor, but also taught me how to run a business and keep customers engaged. This internship will last a lifetime in my future endeavors.”

Brad: Turning Passion Into Professional Growth

Heading into his senior year of college, Brad sought real-world experience in sports media. What he got was an immersive crash course in both the industry and his own capabilities.

“My expectations weren’t just met — they were exceeded in ways I couldn’t have imagined,” Brad said.

Over the summer, he sharpened his writing, refined his voice, and learned how to take complex betting concepts and make them approachable for readers. He also discovered the power of analytics in shaping smarter sports betting content.

His proudest achievement? Writing a Home Run Derby preview that not only correctly predicted Cal Raleigh as the winner, but also became one of the top-ranked betting articles on Google.

“The confidence I’ve gained from this experience has solidified my passion for pursuing a career in sports media,” he reflected.

Tony: A New Lens on Data and Betting

For Tony, the biggest takeaway was understanding how data powers betting models — and how valuable that information can be.

“As someone who has always been a sports fan and not quite understood where all the math and projections came from, it was very cool to work with a data-driven company,” he said. “After winning several bets using the tools, I was convinced there was something to this information-driven model.”

Tony took pride in creating fun and engaging video content, including one highlighting Dimers’ Discord community and another ranking bet slips by design. These projects not only showcased his creativity but also demonstrated how betting content can be both informative and entertaining.

“I’m grateful for the growth, skills, and connections I gained along the way,” he said. “I highly recommend using the Dimers site and tools. They will help you win bets.”
